Leisure Gerontology - begins with a life review that allows elder persons to meditate and reminisce on their life; describe (in writing or orally) their life experiences; identify significant moments, significant achievements, and significant others that give/gave them pleasure; and identify activities that give them pleasure.

Leisure Gerontology - encourages the implementation of life review assessment by establishing a leisure activities schedule; a self-evaluation process; a consultation/counseling regimen that will be regular leisure sessions for the elder persons; a behavior modification program that will encourage mental and physical well being and satisfaction.

Life Reviews - are assessed and evaluated to determine the optimum state of well-being and satisfaction for each elder person; used to determine if single and/or group work is needed; used to refer elder persons to other support systems; used to identify the activities that give significant pleasure.

A Leisure Gerontology Program for the elder person is a beneficial support system, an intervention process, and a plan that leads to an optimum psycho-physiological state of well being for elder persons.
